Florence by Myself...
Well, Chris left early this morning. We've had an amazing time together. It has been such a blessing.
I took myself off to Firenze today for an adventure. I got to see the "Gates of Paradise" on the baptistry doors; Mom and I saw the original panels a few years ago in Seattle. The panels on the front doors now are replicas, as the originals have been pulled for restoration and now preservation. There are two more sets of doors where they need to do the same. The icing on the cake though is the dome on the Duomo. I've studied the Duomo and the dome in school and on my own, but nothing prepares you for the beauty and splendor of the real thing. For lack of a better description, it's amazing...
This trip has been so much more than you're average vacation...alot is just for me and my personal experience, but there are things and pictures that I can't wait to share.
Tomorrow, I'll hop on a plane and head home. I can't believe my time here is over...
